* The 2014 GMC Terrain is designed to be the perfect combination of luxury and utility and it all starts with distinct, bold design features and striking grille. Every Terrain model has standard aluminum wheels to reduce weight and enhance fuel economy. The Terrain's available programmable power liftgate opens to your desired height with the push of a button. Projector beam headlights and fog lamps keep visibility high regardless of weather conditions. The Terrain has a refined interior which features a color touch radio and an acoustic design meant to minimize outside noise. As a crossover, the terrain has the comfort and utility of a small SUV. A 60/40 split and folding second-row maximizes space and there is up to 39.9 inches of rear leg room. The steering wheel features conveniently mounted steering wheel controls. The available 8-Way power driver's seat and remote activated heated front seats promise a comfortable ride regardless of trip length. At the heart of Terrain's performance and power is the 2.4L I-4 VVT DI Engine or opt for the available 3.6L V-6 VVT SIDI engine. The 6-speed transmission offers a wide ratio spread for power in the low gears and efficiency in the high gears. The Standard rear vision camera displays in the center stack touch-screen, and alloys for easy, confidant parallel parking. Finally, the four-wheel independent suspension offers a smooth, steady ride and a precise feel for the road. The Terrain is equipped with 6 airbags, including thorax and side-impact. Plus, anti-lock brakes come standard. The available Forward Collision Alert provides an audible and visual signal when a potential collision is detected. The Lane Departure Warning informs a driver when they have wandered from a lane without using a turn signal. Source: The Manufacturer Summary

Burns oil like oil rig after an explosion. Had the oil consumption test completed at local dealership and after it was all said and done over the specified time frame of testing, was told it is within the limits allowed by the manufacturer for its oil consumption. The AC had to be replaced last year. Then as of this weekend, the check engine light came on and the code was for rapid misfire Idle was awful, display showed service stability traction and Engine Power is Reduced. It wouldnt run over 20 mph and nothing over 8 mph going uphill. Also believe the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. With everything we have dealt with since having this vehicle, knowing what I know now, I would have purchased a different vehicle. Never again once I can get rid of it. Thankfully my husband husband was a mechanic for many years prior to his career change and has been able to fix everything that has been wrong and Ive been able to save money in repairs due to that, but thats beside the point. Do not buy this vehicle if you can help it.
  • DON'T BUY THIS VEHICLE IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED

GM needs to issue a recall for this vehicle and all the others listed in GM service bulletin #14882. The bulletin describes what needs to happen when repairing a failed rear main seal. The PCV system gets clogged and freezes, causing the rear main seal to fail. There's a picture, in that bulletin, of a 1/16 inch drill bit being used to clear the clog out of the PCV system. That size hole isn't efficient to release the pressure caused by a running engine. The pressure has to be released somewhere, and that's when the rear main seal fails. I was told by GM customer service that only certain VIN's are covered by that bulletin. The bulletin covers those certain vehicles for 10 years, or 120,00 miles. GM expects it customers to cover the repair cost of this poorly designed engine. I didn't design this engine, why should I have to pay for their mistake? This is a manufacturers defect, it should be covered regardless of age or miles. Do yourself a favor and Google GM service bulletin #14882 and ACDelco Canada rear main seal 2013 GMC Terrain, and see the evidence for yourself.

We have owned the 2012 GMC Terrain for 2 years. We purchased CPO off of a three year lease with only 9,000 miles. It is the LS (base model), which comes nicely equipped. We wanted a nice SUV for vacations and carrying our bikes. It has more than met our expectations. Nice looking, not overly flashy, but nicely equipped for a base model. We have had no problems and it has decent fuel efficiency. Its a bit sluggish from 0 to 40, but fine on highways. It was a very good buy for 19,000 dollars and has been a great vehicle for us.
